Grade 3 students explored what it might be like to be an archaeologist during a simulated DIG!
Teams made a grid with string, covering one square meter, then carefully dug down to find artefacts that had been buried. They were dusted off, sketched, and recorded. Teams will analyse their artefacts to try to figure out what the items were, where they were from, and how they might have been used. In their unit of inquiry on “Where We Are in Place and Time,” students are learning how artefacts give us clues as to how people of the past may have lived.
