Living in Kongsberg

Kongsberg is a small town (population of around 25,000) south west of Oslo. Although it is a rather small and quiet town, it is also the center of technological excellence in Norway and the companies based in Kongsberg recruit expertise from all over the world (hence the International School here.)

In contrast to the hi-tech aspect of the town, Kongsberg has its own ski-center with a number of graded runs for both downhill and cross-country skiing. There are countless trails through the nearby forests and, if outdoor pursuits are not of interest, Kongsberg also has a modern cinema showing the latest films (in English), indoor sports centres and an internationally renowned jazz festival each July.
